This is a true little tidbit of time that I had with my grandfather and for some reason it stuck with me. I think it’s because it fostered in me the importance of independence gained through learning and applying myself and taking my time to understand the world around me. He grew up poor but was from a loving family and always appreciated what he had. He didn’t have much of an education but it never stopped him from knowing the value of learning new things like painting or how to use a computer. He passed away a few years ago and I miss him. He’s someone whose example I try to live up to. In case you’re wondering, we’re French Canadian.
